Resources for Teachers
The job of any teacher is to instill in every student the joy of learning, of discovery as well as the desire to continue learning and discovering as long as life lasts. Some people would object, saying that not every child can be reached thus. Barring severe neurological damage, we believe every child can learn and be instilled with a desire to continue learning and discovering.
Without a doubt, teaching is hard work. It requires working with people who are constantly changing from one year to the next, from one week to the next and yes, sometimes, from one day to the next. These shifts in personality can be trying, but if they are guided well we will all be rewarded with thoughtful, independent adults. Our resources consider that in order for teachers to be successful, they have to know their audience, have to have multiple ways to transmit information, and have to engage in self-care.
We have compiled resources and information for educators to assist in three vital areas:
Knowing Students– Students in Context
Reaching Students– Teaching Techniques and Professional Growth
Educator Support– Personal Well-being
